The country of Bulgaria is a roller coaster ride of mountain ranges and fertile high valleys.  The capital city of Sofia rests at the feet of Vitosha, which towers more than 1,500 meters over the city, yet you can hop on a city bus that takes you to aerial lifts and hiking paths up Vitosha. These images are from several of the mountain ranges, including the tallest - Rila - and the most spectacular, the cavernous Rhodopes.
